Keeping Guard Out the Window

All quite out the front window!

Day 4: It's a Fricking Sauna!!!

Aunt Kathy thought she left this weather behind when she left Georgia. It rained this morning, so the humidity is close to 80% and the temperature is in the 90's. Needless to say, we spent most of our time inside today. It is supposed to stay like this all week. Yeah for air conditioning.

Nothing much to report here. I've been taking naps, playing with Uncle Steve, and keeping guard out the window. It is so hot there isn't even much to bark at. Uncle Steve took me for a tour of the basement, but the first thing I did was check out the teddy bear's picnic that Aunt Kathy set up at the foot of the stairs. I got picked up and taken upstairs right away. Maybe next time I will get to see more.

Have fun. See you tomorrow!!!

This means "Put Me in Your Lap"

(You would think Uncle Steve would get this by now!)

Day 3: ?Hace pinche' calor!

Loosely translated, this means "Holy Shit, It's Hot!". Today was just miserable. We stayed inside and just read books, watched TV and did jobs around the house. Well, Kathy did jobs around the house, but I helped! It was so hot I could only stay in Uncle Steve's lap to 10 minutes. That is hot.

Sounds kind of embarrassing to get locked out on your balcony. You do realize that everyone in the world can now read about this?

Everything is fine here, but I did kind of scare Uncle Steve the other day. When we went to get Aunt Kathy's new car undercoated, Uncle Steve very nicely lifted me up and put me in the passenger side seat. He then walked around the back of the car to get to the driver's side. I knew there would be interesting things under his seat, so I jumped down on to the floor in front of the driver's seat. Apparently, just as Uncle Steve got to the back of the car, my butt hit the break peddle and turned on the light right by Uncle Steve's head. He opened the door and asked rather bluntly what I was doing. I think he thought I was trying to drive the car. Doesn't he know that dogs can't drive!

Have fun. See you soon.

Helping Aunt Kathy read the morning paper!

Day 2: Both Aunt Kathy and Uncle Steve were home!

These vacations in the summer are great! Today both Aunt Kathy and Uncle Steve were home all day. They kept me so busy I hardly had time for naps. As you can see, I helped her read the morning newspaper. Later in the day, we watched Oprah together. Uncle Steve and I spent some time in my Lazy Boy, but it got hot pretty quick upstairs. Aunt Kathy had her new car undercoated, so I got to take two rides in the car. I heard Uncle Steve ask which car I was going to ride in and Aunt Kathy said something about "Well, she not riding in the new car!" I don't think I liked that, but Uncle Steve's car is better to ride in anyway. He eats a lot in there and you wouldn't believe the tidbits that I can dig out from under the seat!

For two old people, they sure get out a lot. They left for both lunch and dinner. That was OK, I needed time for a nap anyway. Aunt Kathy took me for another quick walk around the neighborhood. My leg is fine until I go charging after something and then it hurts again. Aunt Kathy would hold me and make sure I kept my weight off my bad leg and then it would feel good in a little bit.

Uncle Steve and I are getting ready to watch the season premieres on the Sci-Fi channel tonight. It will give me a chance to rest up before I have to go to bed.

Keeping Uncle Steve Company at the Computer!

Day 1: All Quiet on the Northern Heat Front

As you can see, we are taking it easy in this heat. Uncle Steve works on his computer (a lot, by the way) and I can either sit at his feet, as shown above, or rest in my Lazy Boy in the next room. It is a little cooler in there. Uncle Steve was under the mistaken opinion that it was his Lazy Boy. I had to set him straight, if ever so politely.

You should take more vacations in the summer when Aunt Kathy is home most of the day. She takes great care of me! We went for just a little walk and she really babies me. I would just limp a little on my bad wheel, and she would really fuss over me. (I will probably milk this for all its worth!)

It is so hot I have not seen either of my arch enemies on either side of the house. They are laying sod to the south, so I think the basset hounds will be tied up with that. It is also so hot that no one is staying outside for very long.

Have fun at your resort. You know that I am having fun at mine!!!
