All Quiet on the Mnnesota Front

It was a quiet day here. Aunt Kathy took me for a walk around the neighborhood. I had a vigorous conversation with the two golden retrievers next door. They have to know who is boss around here too! Uncle Steve didn't get home until 9:30 tonight. I made him play ball with me on the living room floor for quite some time. He really looked like he needed that!

I also want to thank you for training Uncle Steve to know when I get cold at night. I stood and stared at him last night when it got a little chilly and he knew that I needed the covers lifted up so I could get warm. Aunt Kathy slept through the whole thing, so it is a good thing that you trained Uncle Steve.

Have fun in Florence (whereever that is!).

Love,

The Speckster

Hi Specky,
We made it to Florence safely. Florence is a lot less hectic than Rome was, so it reminds us more of Paris It's really pretty here and the people seem quite nice.

You won't believe what we saw today. There was a lady inside a butcher shop buying meaty-snacks and her DOG was in there with her! She must really trust her dog. That butcher will be glad to know that they don't issue passports to Specks. Crappy.

More info about Florence in the next few days. We went to the Baptistry today. It is a neat domed building with mosaics all around the inside of the domed ceiling. It was neat to lay on the pews and look up at the ceiling. We took pictures for you to see (or sniff) when we get home. We had a magnificent dinner at a restaurant called 13 Gobbi tonight. It was amazing from the pear and pecorino salad, through the double buttered pasta with proscuitto and down to the rosemary steak and papa's roast beef with potatoes. Oh Speck, we were so full that we had to get dessert to go.
We'll e-mail again tomorrow. Take good care of Uncle Steve and Aunt Kathy. We know you make a good water-bottle on a chilly night, so thanks for looking out for Steve!

Hola, I mean Ciao,
This is my first comment from R&B, so I'm intrigued to read the rest. Dinner sounds absolutley fabulous! Gabby was particularly interested in the meaty snacks.
I hope you are putting back the gelato. I hope you pick up some cool leather goods in Florence.
