Day 8 - Speck on the Couch

Day 8 - Speck on the Couch

I cannot get Aunt Kathy and Uncle Steve together at the same time to find out when they can go out to eat at Shelly’s. I do know that they have tickets for Orchestra Hall on Saturday night, but Sunday night is open. Aunt Kathy is at Orchestra Hall tonight with her friends from Burnsville and will not get home until late. Tomorrow night Aunt Kathy is getting a haircut and will not get back until around 7:00 and Uncle Steve will leave for choir when she gets back from her haircut. So someone will be here all night tomorrow, just not at the same time.

I posted a picture today of me on the couch in the living room. The view from this couch is great. Today was a clear, cool day and there was lots of stuff to watch. I also got in my share of good naps. The sun is really great in the afternoon.

I am really looking forward to you coming home tomorrow. Aunt Kathy and Uncle Steve are great, but there is no place like home. I just hope that Uncle Steve won’t miss me too much.

Day 7 - See Speck Beg

Day 7 - See Speck Beg

Hope you are having a good time. Things were pretty good here today. Uncle Steve came home and read a book so I could sit in his lap and take a nap. We were up in his den, so I could look out the back window and bark at the two big dogs next door when I woke up from my nap.

He is getting really good a feeding me treats. I enclosed a picture of one of my more successful looks.

Aunt Kathy had conferences again tonight so she just got home at 8:00. She looked kind of tired.

The weather got real cold again. Don't have to worry about mud in the back yard any more. Everything is frozen solid again.

See you soon!

Day 6 - Speck Blogging

Day 6 - Speck Blogging

Mom, I glad to hear that you found a place you like to stay. The second hotel sounded kind of gross. I know that Dad can do special stuff with a phone and a credit card.

Today was kind of a slow day. Uncle Steve works until 5:30 and Aunt Kathy went to Jazzercise after she got home from school. I gave her a whole series of pathetic and angry looks to try to get her to stay, but she seems to be pretty disciplined about working out. Also Uncle Steve and Aunt Kathy didn't talk to each other about who was supposed to feed me at night, so I didn't eat until 6:15. I was really counting on both of them feeding me.

I posted a picture of me blogging. Uncle Steve has really taught me a lot about the computer.

See you in a few days. What time are you getting back on Thursday? Uncle Steve said he could take me home when he goes to work on Thursday so I would be there when you get home if you are getting back during the day. If you are coming back after 4:00, then they will keep me at their house so they can play with me and feed me before you get home.

Love,

Day 5 - Walking Around Lake Harriet

Day 5 - Walking Around Lake Harriet

The high temperature today was 62 degrees. We, along with half the Twin Cities, headed down to Lake Harriet for a walk around the lake. You would not have believed all the people. I got pretty dirty, so Aunt Kathy gave me a quick bath. Now the back yard is just a mud pit too.

I am beginning to think that Uncle Steve is a little trickier than I thought. This morning I was having great fun digging under the snow when I heard my breakfast hit my dish. The next thing I know I am inside eating my breakfast and cannot remember what I was digging for in the back yard. I have a hard time reading people's emotions, but I think Uncle Steve was smirking.

Have fun at your next location.

Day 4 - Looking Cute

Day 4 - Looking Cute

We had another great day today. I have both Aunt Kathy and Uncle Steve well trained. They think they are sitting down to read, but I know they just want a soft place for me to nap and look out the window. Their living room has a huge window in the front so I can keep track of the neighborhood. I can also see the two dogs next door out the side window. They sort of go nuts when I bark at them because they can't figure out where I am. What fun! And upstairs I can sit in Uncle Steve's lap and keep track of what is going on in the alley.

There is one mystery though. They don't appear to have any waste backets in this house! There might be one under the kichen sink, but Aunt Kathy put rubber bands on the doors so I can't get it open. Also, Uncle Steve seems to be throughing garbage in his closet. They are really nice to me, so I will overlook this rather strange behavior.

Have fun Mom and Dad!

Day 3 - Nap Time

Day 3 - Nap Time

Today was a day to relax. Uncle Steve had a hard week, so we took a nap this afternoon. Uncle Steve makes a great pillow. I can look out the back window, sleep a little bit, look out the window some, get down and get a drink of water, get back up on his lap and start all over.

Did I tell you about all the neat places to explore over here? I have been sniffing so much stuff. They have got more nooks and crannies than you can shake a stick at. There is a door to the basement that they keep closed. I know before the week is up I will get a chance to explore down there too!

Hope your having fun!

Day 2 - Speck Goes on a Hike

Hi Mom and Dad!

I hope you are having as much fun as I am! Uncle Steve took me for a long walk today. He thought I might get tired, but I showed him. He was dragging when we got back, but I grabbed my ball and wanted to play.

I met another Westy who looked just like me. His name was Nanook. He was just a kid, but he was sort of cute (Why wouldn’t he be, he looked just like me!).

Uncle Steve is off to choir, so I will take a nap while he is gone. I would not want him to think that I could not keep up with him.

Have fun on your vacation! If you want to send me a note, just add a comment.

Hi Mom and Dad

Day 1 - Mom and Dad Leave

Today is the first day of my big adventure. Mom and Dad are going on vacation and I get to go on vacation to my Aunt Kathy and Uncle Steve. I really look forward to these vacations. I bet I will get to go to my favorite store to buy toys, go on long walks around the lake, and eat way too much. Uncle Steve is such a pushover. All you have to do is cock your head just a little bit and he will give you a treat. I haven’t stayed with them for a while, so it may take a little bit to re-train them, but they are quick learners.

Uncle Steve has set up this blog so Mom and Dad can know what I am doing while they are gone. I am so cute and can see why they can’t stand to be away from me. I hope this helps Mom enjoy her vacation.
